FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about Sentry alerts, setup, and how Spectivox fits with your Tesla.
What is Spectivox best at?
Fast Sentry push alerts for your Tesla while parked. Spectivox is built for one car and one user, with a minimal iPhone app.
Do I need Premium Connectivity?
Standard Connectivity is enough when the car has signal. Spectivox uses Fleet Telemetry, not Premium streaming.
What is the difference between Aware and Panic?
Aware means Sentry noticed movement or presence near the parked car. Panic is the stronger alarm tier (for example forced entry). You can choose which types send a push in Settings → Notifications.
Where do I review footage?
Open the Tesla app to review Sentry clips on the car screen. Spectivox does not download or play dashcam video in the app.
Can Spectivox turn Sentry on or off automatically?
Yes. Open Sentry schedule on Home. Turn on and Turn off each have a toggle. Choose One-time or Repeating, then set the date, time, and days.
Do I need to turn on both Turn on and Turn off?
No. Enable only the rules you want. You can run turn-on only, turn-off only, or both.
Do I need a Spectivox account?
No. There is no Spectivox sign-in. You connect your Tesla account in the iPhone app. Tesla tokens stay in Keychain on your phone.
Does Spectivox work when the app is closed?
Yes. Alerts are push notifications from your server. The app does not need to stay open. The car still needs connectivity for telemetry to reach the server.
